Welcome

We're Moving into the Future at the Gaslight!

After a hugely successful season in 2023, we feel 2024 will bring you MORE with three classic plays by three highly experienced and talented directors.

Our greatest concern is our "Elderly Elevator". The "Old Girl" needs updated computer boards and parts - costing $65,000-$70,000 according to TK-Elevator who installed the elevator in 1993. Our special-needs patrons need assurance they can come to our beautifully historic two-story Opera House. We are so blessed and grateful to have your support as we continue to bring fine theater to everyone.

NEXT YEAR IN SEASON 2025, the Gaslight will be offering Online Ticket Orders and reservations!

We are currently implementing and training our volunteers on the program so we can fine tune and make it as user friendly as possible. But "Fear Not", we will still offer our current system in the future also. We will keep you informed on progress during this 2024 season.

Most Sincerely,

Josh Kaspar

It is time to reserve your tickets for "Accommodations", the spring play at the Shiner Gaslight Theatre. Josh Kaspar, director, is assisted by Jim Winkenwerder (light and sound), Elaine Berkovsky (stage manager), Tatum Carson (crew).

This poignant comedy revolves around a woman who leaves her husband and moves into an apartment she believes will be shared by two other women, At the same time one of the 'room mates' thinks the same thing - only he believes it's two other men! The ensuing complications make a hysterical evening of entertainment for the whole family with a happy ending for everyone. This play was made into the popular 1980's TV show, "Three's Company".

Fri., Sat., and Sun. performances are April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21. A Wednesday performance is April 17. All are in the evening except for Sunday matinees. A meal is served before the play.

General tickets sales begin Monday, March 11. Please call 361-594-2079 between 8:30 and 4:00 on weekdays to reserve. All tickets must be reserved in advance.

The Shiner Gaslight Theatre is a non-profit community dinner theatre which seats 132 and provides contemporary and classic theatre. Except as noted, plays are appropriate for adults and older children. The Theatre is staffed completely by volunteers.
